Oh, the thought of hopping on a train and just running away! 32 week pregnant Rebecca and I played in the town of Brunswick, Maryland at their commuter train station and abandoned freight tracks. These photos were for A Daily Something for Cuyana a while back.

The family I used to nanny for invited me to stay a night in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. It was originally a weekend getaway for just the parents, but they missed their girls and called us to join them on their last night. The cozy cabin they rented was tucked away in the woods with a beautiful view overlooking a pond. It was right around the corner from the charming historic town that boasts natural mineral springs.
The tiny one bedroom cabin was crowded with three adults and two kids, but we spent plenty of time outside fishing in the pond, shopping around the town, getting tarot card readings, and drinking wine and playing board games on the porch. It was a chilly, rainy, spring evening. I'm not sure how I ended up sleeping through the night outside on the porch and didn't catch a cold.

Happy Halloween! No joke, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I enjoy all things spooky and eerie - haunted places, ghost stories, zombies, horror movies, etc. Okay, change that to "most things" - no (real) spiders allowed! I love dressing up and seeing what others come up with. I don't have pictures of my Adventure Time Finn costume to show you yet. Just a snippet. But holy crap, look at Danielle Thompson's Adventure Time family costumes! Here are a few links from the past:
- Check out a recent Halloween inspired shoot I did with my friends, Jolleen and Cheska of REVEL Style with neon dipped pumpkins props.
- Last year's visit to Leesburg Animal Park's Pumpkinville, as I hobbled around on fractured foot.
- Last year's zombie getup for a friend's zombie photoshoot, and my paper mache Porky the Pig costume.

A little leather, a little neon and a couple of cool cats made up this Halloween inspired shoot with the REVEL Style girls. This was my last shoot with Jolleen before she shipped out to Los Angeles (jealous). Hoping to make it out to LA soon to play and/or live (wink).
All clothing and accessories can be found at REVEL Style. REVEL Style is a Los Angeles inspired boutique that also features artwork by emerging Washington, DC area artists. Shop online or say hello in person at their Old Town Alexandria location!
Last minute Halloween DIYs for those who are in a pinch to get festive -
- Check out Jolleen's studded cat ears DIY. They can be worn all year round, too, duh.
- Can't be trusted around sharp objects? Paint yo' pumpkins (neon) with this tutorial. I used real pumpkins.
- More pumpkin DIYs, sans knives but with plenty of glitter, from a couple years ago.
A special thank you to the residents of this Old Town alley for allowing us to loiter in your driveways and backyards.

I have a lot of catching up to do! I worked with Rebecca quite a bit last spring when she was still pregnant. Since then, she gave birth to a lovely little girl! This set was part of a series for the fashion boutique, Altar'd State. Rebecca and I spent the evening in Leesburg's Ida Lee Park, situated mere blocks north of the historic town. Along with its recreational center, Ida Lee Park boasts acres of nature with walking trails, open fields, a community garden plot and more! It's a total gem in middle of suburbia.
