2012 was the bully that pushed me around, stole my lunch money and made me feel the absolute worst. Within this whirlwind of a year were incredible moments worth remembering, including: getting a taste of the
mid-western rural lifestyle, getting to
nanny for the best family ever, seeing a handful of
amazing bands in concert, laughing the loudest with
friends, a
foot fracture resulting from having too much fun, etc.
Thank you to 2012 for shaping me, for testing my strengths, my heart, my bones. I'm ready to leave this year behind. I'm ready for the adventures and the challenges in the new year. To 2013, I just want to say, "Come at me, bro!"
To the rest, you are wonderful. There is nowhere to go but forward. There is no place to grow but up. There is no time to love but now. There is no one like you but you.
And now this...
You may have seen Japandroids' album, Celebration Rock, on various Best Albums of 2012 lists. Celebration Rock is the perfect album to listen to to close out the year. It's energetic, powerful, fun, hopeful, complete with fireworks- exactly how a year should end and for a new one to begin. Have a listen, and have a wonderful new year!
